„One Beat, One World“ ist eine mitreißende Musikshow, konzipiert und präsentiert vom renommierten Tabla-Meister und Komponisten Bickram Ghosh. Seine Kompositionen, bekannt für ihre betörenden Melodien und fesselnde rhythmische Intensität, werden dabei von herausragenden Künstler:innen aus aller Welt interpretiert. Während der Beginn des Abends als Solo-Performance von Bickram Ghosh mit Tabla und Body Percussion und Patri Satish Kumar an der Mridangam gestaltet wird, gesellen sich in der zweiten Hälfte Melodieinstrumente hinzu, virtuos gespielt von der renommierten Kala Ramnath an der „singenden Geige“, von Giuliano Modarelli an der Hybridgitarre und Anay Gadgil an Keyboards und Harmonium. Den krönenden Abschluss bildet eine Hommage an den großen Ravi Shankar, den ikonischen Sitarspieler, der nicht nur die indische Musik prägte, sondern als „Godfather of World Music“ weltweit Maßstäbe setzte. Tanzbegeisterte Konzertbesucher:innen können sich im Anschluss im Foyer einer Live-Milonga anschließen. Begleitet von seinem Ensemble, singt und spielt der Sänger und Gitarrist Alejandro Guyot, der dem Duisburger Publikum nicht zuletzt durch seine Astor-Piazzolla-Interpretationen beim Eigenzeit-Festival 2024 in Erinnerung geblieben ist. Zudem demonstrieren Rocío Lequio und Bruno Tombari, wie der Tango heute in Buenos Aires getanzt wird.
“One Beat, One World” is a vibrant and captivating music experience, conceived and led by acclaimed tabla maestro and composer Bickram Ghosh. His compositions – celebrated for their enchanting melodies and dynamic rhythmic complexity – are brought to life by exceptional musicians from across the globe. The evening begins with a powerful solo performance by Bickram Ghosh on tabla and body percussion and Patri Satish Kumar on mridangam, showcasing the raw energy and nuance of hand-played rhythm. In the second half, melodic layers are added by virtuoso performers: the eminent violinist Kala Ramnath on the “singing violin”, Giuliano Modarelli on hybrid guitar, and Anay Gadgil on keyboards and harmonium. The concert culminates in a moving tribute to the legendary Ravi Shankar – the iconic sitar virtuoso who not only transformed Indian classical music but also became a global pioneer, widely hailed as the “Godfather of World Music”. After the performance, dance lovers are invited to join a live milonga in the foyer. Accompanied by his ensemble, guitarist and vocalist Alejandro Guyot – fondly remembered by Duisburg audiences for his interpretations of Astor Piazzolla at the 2024 Eigenzeit Festival – will provide the music for this special finale. Moreover, Rocío Lequio and Bruno Tombari will show how Tango is danced nowadays in Buenos Aires.
