Rosalia Gomez Lasheras

Born in Santiago de Compostela in 1994, Rosalía starts her piano studies at age 5 with Alexander Gold and María José Cerviño. In 2011, after receiving the Extraordinary Award of Santiago Conservatory, she moved to The Netherlands in order to study Bachelor Degree at Utrecht Conservatory with Professor Alan Weiss. At the moment she lives in Switzerland, where she studies 1º year of Master in Performance at Basel Musik Akademie with Professor Claudio Martínez Mehner.

Her development was enriched by the advice of musicians such as Kennedy Moretti, Jerome Rose, Eldar Nebolsin, Lilya Zilberstein, Fou Ts’ong, Menahem Pressler, Galina Egyarzarova, Dimitri Bashkirov, Andras Schiff and Elisabeth Leonskaja, among others.

After performing in the main cities in Spain and winning well-know competitions such as the XVI Infanta Cristina Piano Competition (Madrid, 2012), the XV Cicle de Primavera (Barcelona, 2012), and the Chopin Award at the VII Alto Minho Piano Competition (Portugal, 2010), etc.; her career’s international breakthrough led her to several stages in The Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Egypt and the USA.

She attended such events as the International Summer Academy Mozarteum (Salzburg), and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (Lübeck); and she was invited to the „Moscow Meets Friends“ Festival (by the Spivakov Foundation) in the Russian capital and the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York.

She has a wide experience as a soloist, having worked with conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, Matthew Rowe and Ahmed el Sali; and orchestras like Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Orquesta Presjovem, deOrkestacademie, Orquesta Gaos and Noord Nederlands Orkest.

After her success in the Young Pianist Foundation Competition (Amsterdam, 2013), where she got 1º Prize together with the Laureates Award and the Best Performances of Classical Sonata, Schumann and Modern Music; she had her debut recital in the recital hall of the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, and since then she enjoys an intense concert activity all over The Netherlands (Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Tivoli Vredenburg, etc.).

Her great interest for Chamber Music led her to festivals like the International Chamber Music Festival „Joaquín Turina“ (Sevilla), Storioni Festival (Eindhoven), Delft Chamber Music Festival, Shiermonnikoog Chamber Music Festival and International Chamber Music Festival „Janine Jansen and Friends“ (Utrecht).

At the same time, due to her affinity with Early Music, Rosalía subspecialized on the Harpsichord with Siebe Henstra at Utrecht Conservatory and she’s currently studying a Minor in Fortepiano in the famous Schola Cantorum Basilensis under the guidance of Edoardo Torbianelli.

Recent commitments included her debut recital in Palau de la Música Catalana, a tour around The Netherlands as a soloist with NNO, the premiére of Elmer Shoenberger’s Piano Concerto (composed for her for the Opening of the YPF 2015) accompanied by the NJO and her Egypt debut with the Cairo Smyphony Orchestra.

She has been praised by critics and important music personalities for her outstanding artistic maturity. In 2015 the newspaper El Correo Gallego awarded her the title Galician of the Year due to her striking career.
