Lina Dambrauskaitė is a recent graduate of the International Opera Studio in Opernhaus Zurich. She completed her classical singing studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels with Sigute Stonyte at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and trained with Lillian Watson and Jonathan Papp in the Royal Academy Opera program.
In 2015 she made her operatic debut as Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Lina also sang the role of Thais in Handel’s Alexander’s Feast, Yniold in Debussy’s Pellėas et Mėlisande (Vilnius City Opera). She performed in Germany, Italy, South Korea, China and represented Lithuania at the Universal Exposition “Expo 2015” held in Milan.
In 2017 Lina made her London debut as Zerlina in Royal Academy Opera’s production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
Her roles with the RAO include Semele in Handel’s Semele, Le Feu/Le Rossignol in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortileges and Vixen in Janaček’s The Cunning Little Vixen.
In 2019 the soprano joined the international opera studio of Opernhaus Zurich, where she performed as Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Xenia in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov and La Primadonna in Donizetti’s Viva la Mamma.
The singer is frequently invited to perform soprano solo parts in various oratorios and sacred works: Bach’s St Matthew’s Passion (with Trevor Pinnock and the Dunedin Consort), Haydn’s The Creation (with Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla), as well as Mahler’s Symphony no 4 (with Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla and CBSO).
In March of 2022 Lina was awarded with the Golden Cross of the Stage – the most important and honourable performing arts awards in Lithuania – for her performances as Marie in La fille du Regiment and Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier.
